Preston Fast 5 Road Race
This event is a 5K road race held at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena in Preston. It is organized by Preston Harriers as part of a series of four Wednesday evening races in the spring and early summer.
The course is described as fast and flat, with no tight corners and no traffic. The route consists of three laps on a one-mile lap cycle track. The event is presented as a no-frills race without prizes, focusing on providing an opportunity to run a fast time on an accurately measured course.
There are two separate races held on the evening:
- Race 1: For runners aiming for a time under 18 minutes. The start time is 7:00 PM with an entry limit of 60 participants.
- Race 2: For runners expecting a time over 18 minutes. The start time is 7:30 PM with an entry limit of 60 participants.
Participation is open to individuals aged 16 or older on the day of the race. Online entries open on June 1, 2026, and close on July 13, 2026. There are no entries accepted on the day of the race. The entry fee is £7.00 for UKA members and £9.00 for non-members. Race numbers are available for collection from 5:45 PM on race day. Toilet facilities are available at the sports arena.
