Preston Fast 5 Road Race
The Preston Fast 5 Road Race is a focused running event held at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena in Preston. Organized by Preston Harriers, this competition takes place on an accurately measured 5 km course. The race is part of a series of four evening events held during the spring and early summer seasons.
The course consists of a traffic-free, one-mile cycle track. Participants complete three laps on a flat surface designed without tight corners. This event is described as a straightforward opportunity for runners to achieve specific times on a measured track, and as such, no prizes are awarded.
Registration is categorized into two distinct heats based on expected finishing times:
- 5 km (Race 1): For participants aiming to finish in under 18:00 minutes.
- 5 km (Race 2): For participants aiming to finish in over 18:00 minutes.
The event is open to individuals aged 16 and older. Each race heat has a maximum entry limit of 60 participants. Race numbers are available for collection at the venue on the day of the event, and the University of Lancashire Sports Arena provides on-site toilet facilities for participants. Registration must be completed in advance as no entries are accepted on the day of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
