Preston Fast 5
The Preston Fast 5 is a new race series for 2026 offering a chance to record a fast 5K on a closed, traffic free road at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena cycle track in Preston, Tom Benson Way PR2 1SG.
The series is held on four Wednesday evenings in 2026: 22 April, 20 May, 17 June and 15 July. Each evening comprises two separate races with a field limit of 60 entries for each of the evening's two races. There is no series entry; competitors must enter each race individually using SiEntries. Entry is online only and closes on the Monday evening before each race. There will be no entry on the day.
The course is just over three laps of the traffic free cycle track and is described as having no sharp turns or bends. Entry fees are listed as Club Affiliated £7 and Unaffiliated £9. Race instructions are emailed to competitors after entries close. Official results and free race photos are published after each event and results are sent to British Athletics Power of 10.
