Preston Fast 5 Road Race
The Preston Fast 5 Road Race offers participants an opportunity to compete on an accurately measured 5 km course. Organized by Preston Harriers, the event takes place at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena in Preston. The competition is held on a one-mile cycle track, consisting of a three-lap route that is described as fast, flat, and free of tight corners. The course is entirely traffic free, providing a clear path for runners.
The event structure is focused on performance, with no prizes awarded. Participants are divided into two separate races based on their expected finishing times to manage flow and track capacity:
- 5 km (Standard race for expected times over 18:00 minutes)
- 5 km (Elite race for expected times sub 18:00 minutes)
Each race is limited to 60 entrants. This specific date is part of a series occurring on Wednesday evenings during the spring and early summer months.
The event is open to runners who are at least 16 years old on the day of the race. Facilities at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena include toilets for participant use. Race numbers are available for collection at the venue on the evening of the run. Registration must be completed in advance as there are no entries accepted on the day of the event.
