Event Overview
The Preston Fast 5 Road Race is a series of evening running events organized by Preston Harriers. The competition takes place at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena in Preston. The event is one of four races held during the spring and early summer season.
The race focuses on providing participants with an opportunity to achieve a fast time on an accurately measured course without additional features such as prizes.
Course Details
The race is held on a one-mile lap cycle track. The course is flat, traffic-free, and does not contain tight corners. To complete the 5 km distance, participants cover three laps of the track.
Race Categories and Registration
The event is divided into two separate waves based on predicted finishing times:
- 5 km (Race 1): For participants aiming for a time under 18:00 minutes.
- 5 km (Race 2): For participants aiming for a time over 18:00 minutes.
Each race has an entry limit of 60 participants. There are no entries accepted on the day of the event. Registration is open to runners aged 16 or older.
Facilities and Logistics
Toilet facilities are available at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena. Participants can collect their race numbers on-site starting from 5:45 pm on the day of the event.
