Preston Fast 5 Road Race
The Preston Fast 5 is a 5 km road race. It is part of a series of Wednesday evening races held in spring and early summer.
The course is fast and flat, with no tight corners. It takes place on a traffic-free, one-mile lap cycle track at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena in Preston. The event consists of three laps of this track.
There are two separate races held on the same evening. Race 1 is for runners aiming for a finish time under 18 minutes, with a start time and an entry limit. Race 2 is for runners with a target time over 18 minutes, with a later start time and a separate entry limit. Entry is limited for each race. Race numbers are collected on the day. Toilet facilities are available at the Sports Arena. The minimum age to participate is 16 years old on the day of the race.
The event is organized by Preston Harriers. It is described as a no-frills race with no prizes, offering an opportunity to run a fast time on an accurately measured course.
