Prairie State Cup
The Prairie State Cup is a draft legal sprint collegiate triathlon for NCAA collegiate women held at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area in Dewitt, Illinois. The event is organized as a collegiate club race and uses individual registration.
Course distances are:
- 750 m swim
- 12 mile bike
- 3.2 mile run
The swim takes place in Clinton Lake. The lake is managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and lies within a roughly 5,000 acre area. The facility supports aquatic recreation and camping. The event notes a five year average water temperature of 77 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit at the swimming location for the first week of October.
The bike course uses the hard park roads and is laid out as four loops. The bike course will be closed to general traffic with support from local law enforcement, park staff, and volunteers. The run is an out and back on a flat hiking and bike path with a compacted rock chip surface.
The race is planned to be completed in two waves. Wave assignments will be made after entries and in consultation with coaches and officials, with an intent to separate higher and lower collegiate rankings. The event applies time limits for swim and bike segments and may assign DNF status to athletes who remain on course beyond the event timeline.
Individual registration opens March 31, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026. The listed registration fee is $90.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
