Prairie & Pines 5K and Half Marathon - Marshall, Minnesota
The Prairie & Pines weekend features two organized running events that both start and finish at the Red Baron Arena in Marshall, Minnesota. The courses use local trails and campus grounds, including the Camden Regional Trail, the SMSU campus, and the ADM environmental learning trail on the outskirts of town.

- Prairie & Pines 5K : 3.1 Miles
- Prairie & Pines Half Marathon : 13.1 Miles
Registration opens 5/8/2026 and closes 7/8/2026. Standard registration fees are $30 for the 5K and $50 for the half marathon. Registrants who register by 7/8 receive a cooling towel (5K) or a t-shirt (half marathon). A $10 discount and both giveaways apply for participants who register for both events. Prices increase on 7/9 and 8/3. A limited number of giveaway items may be available after 7/8 on a first-come, first-served basis.
Packet pick up is organized on 8/8 starting at 4:30pm for both events; half marathon packets may also be picked up on race morning on 8/9 starting at 6:30am. The Red Baron Arena provides restrooms before and after the events. Water, porta potties, and first aid are available every 2-3 miles on the half marathon course; water is available at the halfway point of the 5K. Volunteers assist with road crossings, but roads will not be closed.
Half marathon notes: medals for top three men and women in each age division; strollers are not permitted; a 4-hour time limit applies and support stations begin to close after 12pm. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
