Camden State Park Trail Races
Camden State Park in southwest Minnesota sits on the Coteau des Prairies plateau. The Redwood River cuts through the park and forms a wooded valley with hiking, biking, and running trails. The event date is August 22, 2026.
Distances:
- 3 mile race
- 7 mile race
- 10 mile race
The 3 mile and 10 mile fields start together; the 7 mile starts five minutes later. The 10 mile course follows the 3 mile plus the 7 mile route. Courses start and finish in the south parking lot by the Redwood River and Bluebird Trailheads. There is ample parking and the event uses the full group camp area.
Races run counter clockwise. The route heads north through the valley along the Redwood River, then turns east up the bluff to run along woods and open prairie, before returning down into the valley to the finish. Trail surfaces vary from wide mowed paths to technical singletrack.
Awards are given for first and last overall male and female finishers in each distance. The race is part of the 2026 Points Series that includes Deer Dash, Big Sioux Rec, Newton Hills, and partner races; points for the series are awarded by place from 10 points for first down to 1 point for tenth. Age divisions for points are 29 and under, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60 plus.
Entry fees are the same for the three distances: general registration is $40 and youth 18 and under is $15. There is an option to register for all four series races at a bundled price that includes special swag. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
