Prairie Moon 5K Pumpkin Fun Run
Prairie Moon 5K Pumpkin Fun Run is a community fundraising event held at Prairie Moon Waldorf School in Lawrence, Kansas on October 24, 2026. The event offers a timed 5K race and a non-timed fun run/obstacle course for younger children, plus family-oriented activities on the school grounds.

The 5K begins and ends at the school and follows the gravel road (1600 Rd) to the Mud Creek levee trail and back. The course is officially timed but not certified. Strollers are permitted; sturdy tires are recommended for the gravel section. Prizes for top finishers will be provided by local stores. Garmin donated a Forerunner 165 Music (black band) for a raffle; all 5K registrants are entered automatically and each additional $10 donation adds one raffle ticket.
Packet pick-up is offered the day before at Fleet Feet Lawrence and the morning of the event at the school. Youth registration pricing differs from adult pricing and t-shirt purchase options vary by registration type. Post-run activities include pumpkin painting, face painting, chess, additional games, food trucks, coffee, and baked goods.
Prairie Moon Waldorf School is a nonprofit Waldorf school serving early education through 8th grade since 2001. The school uses a nature- and arts-based curriculum and a need-based tuition scale; fundraising supports tuition reductions and school programs. Donations are accepted and may affect raffle entries.
