Course & Location

The Powhatan Village Run is a 4-Miler. The start and finish are located at the Elizabeth R. Lewis (Powhatan) YMCA in Fighting Creek Park on Mann Road in Powhatan, Virginia. The first three miles run through the streets of the Village of Powhatan. The fourth mile is on the Fighting Creek Park Trail before returning to Mann Road near the start.

Event Background

This is the 43rd edition of the event, which was established in 1981. It is described as a community road race with a primary purpose of providing a quality race in a rural setting. The race has historically benefited various charitable causes, and proceeds from this edition will support Powhatan County Public Schools Cross Country and Track and Field programs. Registration & Details

  • Entry Fee: The base price is $20. It increases to $25 after August 21, 2026, and to $30 after August 28, 2026.
  • T-Shirts: A shirt is guaranteed for runners who register by August 21, 2026, while supplies last after that date.
  • Prizes: Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers, the first male and female residents of Powhatan, and the top three finishers in each age division. Age divisions span from 14 & under to 90+.
  • Packet Pick-up: Options are available the day before the race at PR Run & Walk in Midlothian, Virginia, and on race day at the Powhatan YMCA.
