About the race
The Wild Rose Indoor Winter Triathlon takes place at the SLS Centre in Cochrane, Alberta. The event is organized into heats and is open to participants at all levels. Heat assignments are based on reported swim pace and participants are notified about their heat approximately one week before the event.
The format includes three timed segments: a 10 minute swim in the pool using any stroke, a 20 minute stationary bike session led by an instructor in a spin room, and a 15 minute walk or run on the indoor track. Transition periods are scheduled between segments, including a 15 minute transition from swim to bike and a 5 minute transition from bike to run. Swimmers are grouped by similar pace, swim in lanes with up to four swimmers per lane, and follow lane rules including counter-clockwise swimming and toe tap passing procedure. Lifeguards and volunteers staff the pool area.
On arrival participants check in, receive body marking, meet a group leader who stays with the heat, and set up their bike in the spin room. After the event each participant receives an official race bib, a commemorative finisher’s bracelet, a group photo, access to post-race massage, and a Jugo Juice smoothie.
The event policy states there are no refunds. Registrations may be rolled over to the 2028 event for a CA$30 fee before February 7, or transferred to another racer for a CA$15 fee with specific deadlines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
