Poverello House Papa Mike's Cafe Run for Meals
The 12th Annual Papa Mike's Cafe Run for Meals takes place at Woodward Park in Fresno, California. The event is held at the Sunset View Shelter and supports the initiatives of the Poverello House, specifically benefiting Papa Mike's Cafe. This facility provides restaurant-style dining experiences and daily meals to community members in need.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 5K Run
- 2 Mile Run/Walk
In addition to the running and walking events, there is a dedicated activity called PBJ. During this session, participants prepare peanut butter and jelly sandwiches while the races are in progress. These sandwiches are included in the to-go lunches distributed by the Poverello House.
Registration for the run and walk events includes an official event t-shirt, a race medal, and a breakfast burrito. For those participating in the 5K Run, the event is timed. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in several age categories, ranging from children aged 12 and under to participants aged 60 and over. Packet pick-up is available the day before the event at a local bike shop or on the morning of the race at the park shelter. Woodward Park charges a separate vehicle parking fee for attendees.
