Potomac River Views 5k and 10k
This event features two distances at Daingerfield Island in Alexandria, VA, with courses that run along the Mount Vernon Trail toward Old Town Alexandria and Oronoco Park and back. Points earned count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
The course is a fairly flat, paved out‑and‑back with no major elevation gains.

- 10 km out-and-back along the Mount Vernon Trail
Participants receive a finisher medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. There are water stations at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65 on the 10k course, and at about mile 1.55 on the 5k course; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the marina. Packet pickup is available at the event; organizers recommend arriving one hour before the event to check in. There will be no on-site race registration.
Awards are presented to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in the age groups 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus; overall top three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Live results are posted during the race and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the event. The race benefits the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation, which rescues, fosters, and places homeless pets. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
