The Potomac River Views event on February 28, 2026 at Daingerfield Island in Alexandria, VA offers road race options along the Mount Vernon Trail. Distances offered include:

The course is a paved out-and-back route along the trail. The organizer describes it as fairly flat with no major elevation gains. Walkers and strollers are allowed. A virtual race option is available.
Race details
The event uses chip timing. Registered finishers receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (drifit) event shirt; shirts are guaranteed to runners registered before February 18 and extras are available first-come, first-served. There will be three water stations on the 10k course at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one water station on the 5k at about mile 1.55; Gatorade may be available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the marina. Packet pickup is available at the event; attendees are advised to allow time to check in. There will be no on-site race registration.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and the Winter Series. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
