Potomac River Views 5K & 10K
This event takes place on March 6, 2027 at Daingerfield Island in Alexandria, Virginia. It offers timed races along a fairly flat, paved out and back route on the Mount Vernon Trail, running along the Potomac River toward Old Town Alexandria and Oronoco Park.

Race features include chip timing, a finisher's medal, and a technical event shirt. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and also count toward the Winter Series.
Aid and logistics: the 10k course has three water stations near mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65; the 5k course has one water station near mile marker 1.55. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the marina. Packet pickup is available at the event and participants are advised to arrive one hour before their event start time to check in. There will be no on-site race registration.
Results and media: live results are posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are published the Monday after the race. Photos taken by staff are posted to the organizer's Facebook page by the Tuesday after the event.
Charity: the race benefits the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation, which conducts rescue, foster, and adoption work to help homeless pets. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
