Potawatomi Trail Runs - McNaughton Park, Pekin IL (April 9 - 12, 2026)
The event marks the 25th running of Potawatomi Trail Runs at McNaughton Park in Pekin, Illinois. Races use a 10 mile loop composed mostly of single-track dirt, with prairie sections, several creek crossings, and rolling hills. Elevation gain is about 1500 feet per 10 mile loop. Wildlife such as deer and birds may be encountered. Aid stations are positioned approximately every 5 miles; there are no drop bags at the 5 mile aid station.

Timing uses traditional DNS and DNF methods; all runners are chip or board timed and course records require GPS documentation. Runners must complete their registered distance to be credited as a finisher. Early start options exist for some distances but are not available for the 200 mile race and are not eligible for podium awards. Awards and swag include a shirt and finisher medal for all participants; 50, 100, 150 and 200 mile finishers receive buckles, and 150 and 200 mile finishers receive a completion jacket.
Amenities and rules include a large tented gear area at the start/finish, primitive tent camping on site, no individual campfires or generators, porta potties, and power for charging electronics at the main aid station. Trails are public and may have other users. A deferral option to the following year is available at 50% of the entry fee if requested in writing before the race. Registration closes March 15.
