The Community Chest of Port Washington Thanksgiving Day 5 Mile Run is scheduled for Thursday, November 26, 2026, at Manorhaven Beach Park in Port Washington, New York. The event is presented as the Run for the Red Feather and is held rain or shine.
The course covers 5 miles through Sands Point and Port Washington, with rolling hills for much of the route and the last two miles described as downhill and flat. The finish is in Manorhaven Beach Park with views of Manhasset Bay. The race is a USA Track and Field sanctioned event.
Registration details include age and entry rules: minimum age is 9, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and each participant must register and sign a waiver. Wheelchair participation is accommodated. Baby strollers, skateboards, bicycles and dogs are not permitted for safety reasons.
