Port City Turkey Trot 5k & 10k
The event offers two race distances and awards series points toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Sippin Series. The course starts and ends near Port City Brewing in Alexandria, Virginia, and follows Holmes Run with some scenic views of the water.

The route is a fairly flat, paved course with a short light gravel out-and-back section at the beginning. The 10 km follows the out-and-back twice. The event includes a virtual race option for those who cannot attend in person.
Runners receive one glass of beer from Port City Brewing, a finisher medal, a technical (drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. Water and hydration details are provided on course: five stations on the 10 km at approximately miles 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2, and two stations on the 5 km at approximately miles 1 and 2.1; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are available at Port City Brewing.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in age categories 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus; top three overall finishers are not eligible for age group awards. Race results are posted live on Athlinks and via an on-site QR code, with final results and series points posted the Monday after the event.
Packet pickup is available at the event; organizers recommend arriving 90 minutes before the event to check in. Race day registration is offered and typically requires arrival about one hour before the race to complete registration. Volunteers are asked to arrive about 60 minutes before the first race for assignments. The race benefits Make a Wish Mid Atlantic.
