Event Overview

The Bunnyman Turkey Trot offers a 5k and a 10k race on a paved route at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Virginia. The event is held around the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Points earned from participating count towards the organizer's Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, as well as the Sippin Series. A virtual run option is also available.

Course Details

The course is described as paved with limited hills. The 5k route is an out-and-back, while the 10k is two laps of the same course. There are multiple water stations along the route, with eight stations for the 10k and four for the 5k. Some stations will provide Gatorade.

Registration & Fees

Registration fees are tiered:

  • 5k: $35 until November 15, then $40, with a $5 increase on race morning.
  • 10k: $50 until November 15, then $55, with a $5 increase on race morning.

Race-day registration is available. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before November 16; after that, they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participant Perks & Awards

Registered runners receive a technical event shirt, a finisher medal, a chip-timed event, and one drink ticket for beer or wine from Bunnyman Brewing.

Awards are given post-race to the top three overall men and women. Additional awards are given for first and second place in age categories: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards.

Charity Partner

The event supports The h3 Project, a 501(c)3 organization based in Washington, D.C., focused on ending homelessness and human trafficking through street outreach and community education.

Logistics

Packet pickup is available on-site, and participants are advised to arrive one hour before their event start time. Parking is at the Workhouse Arts Center. Restrooms are located near the Visitor Center. The event proceeds rain or shine, with cancellations being rare. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
