Port Austin Run and Walk
The Port Austin Run and Walk is a community running event held on July 24, 2027 at Gallup Park in Port Austin, Michigan. The event supports Blue Star Mothers Thumb Chapter 178 and VFW Post 116, with all proceeds donated to those organizations. It is organized as a family event and includes prize drawings.
Distances offered:
- 8K Run about 5 miles, mixed paved and gravel roads
- 2 Mile Run all paved village streets
- 2 Mile Walk all paved village streets
The 8K course uses both village and rural roads, roughly half paved and half gravel. Water stations are provided on course and refreshments are available at the pavilion after the event. Port a Johns are available at the park. The 8K run travels in the opposite direction from the 2 mile events. Participants registered for the 2 mile walk are required to walk the entire course.
Registration opens December 31, 2026 and closes July 9, 2027. Early and late entry fees differ by distance and a $5 reduction applies for entries without a shirt; shirts are not guaranteed for entries after July 9, 2027. The event uses professional timing by Miller Race Management and posts results on RunSignUp. Awards include trophies for overall male and female winners and awards for the top three finishers in each age group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
