Port Austin Run and Walk
The Port Austin Run and Walk is a community road event held at Gallup Park in Port Austin, Michigan on July 25, 2026. The event offers multiple course options and donates proceeds to The Blue Star Mothers Thumb Chapter 178 and The VFW Post 116 in memory of Donald M. Cook.

- 2 Mile Run
- 2 Mile Walk
The 8K course runs through both village and rural roads and is roughly half paved and half gravel. The 2 Mile courses use paved village streets. Water stations are provided on course and refreshments are available at the pavilion after the event. Port-a-johns are on site.
Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes July 10, 2026. Early registration fees apply through July 10; fees increase afterward. Shirt availability is not guaranteed after July 11, 2026; a reduced fee applies for entrants opting out of a shirt.
Timing and results are handled by a professional timing company, with awards that include trophies for overall male and female winners and trophies or awards for the top three finishers in each age group. Age groups span from 10 and under through 90 and over. Participants in the 2 Mile Walk are required to walk the entire course from start to finish.
