Port Austin Run and Walk
Port Austin Run and Walk is a community running and walking event held at Gallup Park, 363 West Spring Street, Port Austin, MI 48467 on July 24, 2027. The event is dedicated to the nation’s troops and veterans, and all proceeds support the Blue Star Mothers Thumb Chapter 178 and VFW Post 116.
Available distances:
- 8K Run : 5 Miles
- 2 Mile Run : 2 Miles
- 2 Mile Walk : 2 Miles
The 8K course includes both village and rural roads, with about half paved and half gravel. The 2 Mile course follows paved village streets. Water stations are provided along the courses, and refreshments will be available at the pavilion after the event. Port-A-Johns are available at the park. The 2 Mile races start before the 8K, and the 8K runs in the opposite direction to the 2 Mile races.
Registration opens December 31, 2026 and closes July 9, 2027. Registration fees before July 9 and after July 9 are:
- 2 Mile Run and Walk: $20 before, $25 after.
- 8K Run: $25 before, $30 after. A no-shirt option reduces the fee by $5. Shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after July 9.
The event is professionally timed by Miller Race Management. Results will be posted on RunSignUp. Awards include trophies to overall male and female winners and trophies or awards for the top three finishers in each age group. Age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
