Poppy Scotland Half Marathon - Dunoon
The Poppy Scotland Half Marathon will take place on Saturday 19th September 2026. Dunoon Community Council and the Dunoon Poppy Appeal are hosting the event on behalf of Poppy Scotland to support the charity and promote community spirit.
The race course runs between Dunoon Pier and Toward lighthouse and is organised as a half marathon distance. The event is planned alongside a town market in Argyll Gardens, with live entertainment scheduled in the afternoon.
Organisers aim to raise £10,000 for Poppy Scotland. They estimate event costs will be in excess of £4,000, covering items such as insurance, medals and t shirts for runners, council fees, and equipment hire. Local residents and businesses are being approached for support; businesses that donate will have their logo added to a sponsors banner that will be displayed at the event.
The event requires a significant number of volunteers to support safe and smooth delivery. Organisers are collecting volunteer registrations through a form.
