Ardgartan Trail Race is a 21 (ish) mile foot race at Ardgartan Forest Park, Arrochar (G83 7AR). The course gains about 3,500 ft of elevation and is approximately 90% off road. It follows a loop of the Ardgartan Peninsula with some tarmac, forestry trails and an open hill section across to Lochgoilhead, then a climb back up to the Rest And Be Thankful and a final downhill to the finish. The route may be changed if forestry or storm damage is present.

Safety, kit and race rules
There are two water stations at about 7 miles and 13 miles; these are provided mainly for safety given time of year and possible poor weather. Due to limited parking at Ardgartan Car Park, car sharing is requested and additional parking information will be provided in the race briefing. A race t-shirt is optional.
Runners must carry mandatory kit for the event; required items include a full-size foil blanket, a working mobile phone with race control number, trail food, means to carry water, and a small first aid kit. Recommended items include waterproofs, hat/gloves and extra layers. Race rules include photo ID at registration, no transfer of places, no muling, no walking poles, no support runners or bikes, no dogs, no use of NSAIDs during the event, no littering, and following marshal and race medical instructions. Refund policy: £15 fee within 30 days; 50% refund after 30 days up to 12 weeks before the race; 0% refund within 12 weeks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
