About the Event
The Poor Man's Run is organized by the ULM College of Pharmacy and benefits the St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy. This nonprofit pharmacy provides medications to patients who could not otherwise afford them. All funds raised from the run go directly to the Monroe location of the pharmacy.
Event Distances
The event offers two distances:
- A 5K run.
- A 1 Mile fun run.
Practical Information
The event takes place in Monroe, Louisiana, at 1800 Bienville Dr. Runner packets can be picked up on Friday before the event at the ULM College of Pharmacy or on the morning of the run. Refreshments will be provided along the course, and the race is timed by the Ouachita Valley Road Runners. An awards ceremony follows the runs. Registrants who sign up before a specified date in February receive a t-shirt with their registration. After the runs, the event will host its first car show.
