David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation Run 5K
The event is a community running event held at Eisenhower Park, Field 2, featuring a traditional LIRRC 5K course that is USATF certified. The event includes a separate free kids fun run and provides a commemorative classic race shirt to all entrants.

- 5 kilometers on the traditional LIRRC 5K course
- 1/4 mile free kids fun run
Awards are presented for overall and age group placing, including a top male overall and a top female overall award, age groups from 14 and under through 90 plus, and an award for the top wheelchair finisher. A Law Enforcement division recognizes top finishers and masters in that division; law enforcement entrants who do not receive a Law Enforcement division award remain eligible for age group awards. A special combined award recognizes the fastest combined times for open and masters male and female runners across this race and the D.C. Raymond Downey "Forever Running" 5K held later in June.
Proceeds support the Long Island Police Crisis Foundation to assist officers and their families in emergencies. The first one thousand dollars in proceeds is designated for the Nassau Police Running Club scholarship fund.
Day of bib pickup is at the Eisenhower Park Field House located between Parking Field 1 and Parking Field 2, with pickup available on race day. Live online and same-day results, free finish line video, and same-day finish line photos are provided. Greater Long Island Running Club maintains social channels for event information.
