David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation Run 5K
The event is a community road race held at Eisenhower Park - Field 2. It features a 5-kilometer race using the traditional LIRRC 5K course and a short kids fun run. The 5K course is USATF certified (certificate ID NY17013JG).
Distances:
- 5 kilometers race on the traditional LIRRC 5K course
- 1/4 mile kids fun run
All entrants receive a commemorative t-shirt. Awards are distributed in multiple categories, including top overall finishers, age-group awards for both sexes, a wheelchair award, and a law enforcement division with separate awards for finishers and masters. No duplication of awards is applied between divisions.
Proceeds benefit the Long Island Police Crisis Foundation to assist officers and their families; the first $1,000 in proceeds is allocated to the Nassau Police Running Club Scholarship Fund. Race-day bib pickup is at the Eisenhower Park Field House between Parking Field #1 and Parking Field #2; a self-lookup option is available for bib numbers.
