Polar Bear Run 5K - Marietta, GA (January 24, 2026)
The 38th annual Polar Bear Run takes place at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30068. The event is a Peachtree Qualifier road race on a flat course in East Cobb County and uses chip timing provided by Horizon Race Solutions. The race is scheduled to proceed regardless of weather.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk, open age group.
- Cub Run for ages 2 to 5.
- Cub Dash for young children.
Registration is available online via ACTIVE.com, by mail (entries must be received by January 20), or in person. Walk-in registration is available at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church and Big Peach Running Co. Fees listed include a 5K early rate of $30 through January 14 and a late rate of $35 through January 23. Cub Run fees include $25 early, $30 late, and $40 on race day. A Polar Bear Fan Club option is available for $35.
Packet pick-up is offered early at Big Peach Running Co. in Marietta (1062 Johnson Ferry Road) and on event day at the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church activities center. Participant shirts are distributed before the race except for Fan Club shirts, and shirts are not guaranteed after the event.
Awards for the 5K include overall male and female, masters male and female, and top three male and female finishers in 16 age categories from 10 and under to 80 and over. Ribbons are provided for Cub participants and a team award is given to the largest registering team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
