Event overview
The 38th annual Polar Bear Run 5K takes place on January 24, 2026, at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30068. The road race is a Peachtree Qualifier with a flat course in East Cobb County and uses chip timing provided by Horizon Race Solutions. The event is scheduled to run rain, snow, or shine.

Registration, packets and awards
Registration is available online, by mail (entries must be received by January 20), or in person, with walk-in registration at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church and Big Peach Running Co. Fee structure listed in the event details:
- 5K: $30 through January 14; $35 late registration through January 23.
- Cub Events: $25 (ages 2-5) early; $30 late; $40 race day registration.
- Polar Bear Fan Club shirt option: $35.
Early packet pick-up is available at Big Peach Running Co. in Marietta; race day packet pick-up is at the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church Activities Center. All shirts except Fan Club shirts are distributed before the race; packets may be picked up by a third party only with a copy of the participant's ID. No shirts can be guaranteed after the race.
5K awards will be presented to overall male and female winners, masters male and female winners, and the top three male and female finishers in 16 age categories from 10 and under to 80 and over. Ribbons are awarded for Cub Run and Cub Dash. A team award, Polar Bear Pack, recognizes the largest registering team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
