About the race
The POG 5 Mile Run/Walk takes place on July 31, 2027 at Morristown High School, 215 W. Main St., Morristown, Indiana 46161. The event uses a paved, flat out and back course that extends to the Morristown Cemetery, includes a short loop inside the cemetery, and returns into town. The course is closed to traffic during the event and includes three water stops.
The event offers a 5 Miles run/walk distance. Registration opens August 25, 2026 and closes July 25, 2027; the registration fee is $30.00. The Kopper Kettle Inn Restaurant sponsors the event and provides beer, wings, cookies, and fruit in its outdoor garden dining area after the event.
Cash awards are given to the top three overall finishers and to places one through three in age-group divisions. Trophies are awarded for participants 19 and under. Proceeds benefit the Morristown girls and boys cross country and track teams and a memorial scholarship. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
