Philadelphia Marathon Weekend
Philadelphia Marathon Weekend takes place in Philadelphia on Nov 20-22, 2026. The multi-race event attracts more than 30,000 athletes and includes a full marathon, a half marathon, an 8K and a kid’s run. The 2026 registration is open; the 2025 marathon and half marathon were sold out with a waitlist available that requires a credit card but does not charge until a slot opens.
All courses are USATF certified and the Philadelphia Marathon is a Boston qualifier. Routes pass through Fairmount Park, along the Schuylkill River and waterfronts, and through neighborhoods including University City and Manayunk. The half marathon starts on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and finishes in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Rothman Orthopaedics 8K follows the Schuylkill River and Kelly Drive. The Nemours Children’s Health Kid’s Run is held at Eakins Oval adjacent to the museum.
Weekend features include an expo and an official event app for tracking participants and viewing results. Several combined-race Challenges pair distances across the weekend, including Patriot, Independence, Liberty Bell and Freedom Challenge options that combine the marathon, half and 8K in different combinations.
