2026 Philadelphia HBCU Alumni Alliance 5K Run/Walk
The Philadelphia HBCU Alumni Alliance 5K Run/Walk is an annual event held at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey. Now in its sixth year, this event brings together alumni and community members from the Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware regions. The primary objective of the run is to raise scholarship funds for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) while encouraging healthy living and wellness.
Participants have the choice of several registration categories:
- 5 km Run (In-person)
- 5 km Walk (In-person)
- 5 km Virtual Run/Walk
The in-person routes take place along North Park Drive in Pennsauken. For those unable to attend at the physical location, a virtual option is available during the designated race week. Virtual participants can complete their distance on treadmills, neighborhood streets, or local parks and are required to upload their results through a tracking application or web portal.
The event is supported by more than 17 HBCU member schools and their alumni networks. Proceeds assist students through local member schools and participating organizations focusing on higher education advocacy, hunger relief, and health. Participants who register by June 7, 2026, are eligible for an event shirt, which must be collected in person for those attending the physical event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
