Plaid to the Bone is a lumberjack-themed 10K road and trail event in Fredericksburg, VA (120 River Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405). Registration opens June 15, 2026. Entry fee listed as $40. The event is open to ages 12–99. Costumes are encouraged and flannel is required.
Course and logistics
The course runs along the Rappahannock River and uses trails in Pratt and St. Clair Brooks Parks. The route is USATF certified and includes rolling hills. Two parking options are provided: Pratt Park and a secondary lot near the YMCA Water Park at 212 Butler Road. Vehicles parked at Pratt Park will not be able to exit while River Road is closed for the event; the secondary lot is suggested for those arriving late or planning to leave early.
Packet pickup, timing and post-race
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at River Rock Outfitter's Central Park store (1382 Carl D Silver Parkway, Fredericksburg) and on race morning near the Pratt Park restrooms. Overall awards are determined by gun time; age group awards are determined by chip time. Overall top finishers in the male and female categories receive flannels from a sponsor; top three in each age group receive gift certificates from River Rock Outfitter. Post-race refreshments include apple cider, donuts, apples, and a finisher's medal. The race is listed as the ninth event in the Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix Series hosted by the Fredericksburg Area Running Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
