Event Overview
The Plaid to the Bone 10K is a lumberjack-themed 10 km race scheduled for October 11, 2026. The event is open to participants aged 12 to 99. It is part of the 2026 Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix Series hosted by the Fredericksburg Area Running Club.
Course Details
The course runs along the Rappahannock River and through the trails of Pratt and St. Clair Brooks Parks. It is described as scenic and features rolling hills. The course closes at 10:00 AM.
Awards
Awards are given based on gun time for the top three overall male and female finishers (referred to as Lumberjacks and Lumberjills). Age group awards, determined by chip time, are given to the top three male and female finishers in the following categories: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Age group prizes are gift certificates from River Rock Outfitter.
Participant Experience
A lumberjack or flannel theme is encouraged. After finishing, participants receive a finisher's medal, fresh apple cider, donuts, and apples. An awards ceremony begins at approximately 9:15 AM.
Logistics
The event starts at 120 River Road in Fredericksburg, VA. Packet pickup is available on October 9th and 10th at local stores, and on race day near the restrooms at Pratt Park from 7:00 AM to 7:50 AM. Packets are not mailed. Parking is available at Pratt Park (with restrictions after 7:25 AM) and at a secondary lot near the YMCA Water Park on Butler Road.
