Place Fell 15

Place Fell 15 is a semi technical 15 km trail race with 680 m of ascent, held in Patterdale on the shores of Ullswater as part of the Helvellyn Sky Ultra weekend on 18 July 2026. The organiser describes the route as tough but attainable and suitable as an introduction to more technical races.

The route starts and finishes at King George Playing Field and circumnavigates the base of Place Fell in an anti clockwise direction. The course uses fully marked trails and footpaths and includes fields, mildly technical trail sections, a short road section, a stepped path to Silver Bay, and a steep climb to Boredale Hause with views toward Kirkstone Pass. The route passes Silver Crag, a mid route feed and water station at CP2, manned checkpoints and a descent back through CP1 before returning to the events centre.

Entries open on 4 October 2025 and close on 15 July 2026, with entries available on the day. The minimum entry age is 16 and the entry fee is listed as £40. Participants receive electronic timing, a recycled paper mache wild flower seed medal, and post race vegan salty soup. The event notes a maximum allowed time of 3.5 hours and is delivered by a professional events team within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
