Pittsburgh Melanoma Foundation 5k : June 13, 2026
The Pittsburgh Melanoma Foundation presents its annual 5k on June 13, 2026. The event will be held in person at Corrigan Drive in South Park and will also offer a virtual participation option anywhere in the United States. Race day registration will not be offered; registration is handled in advance online.
Registration fees include a moisture wicking t shirt, a bib number, and a timing chip. The event continues the foundation's focus on melanoma awareness through prevention and early detection. The Pittsburgh Melanoma Foundation is a Pittsburgh based 501(c)3 run by volunteers who have been personally impacted by melanoma, including survivors, caregivers, healthcare workers, family, and friends.
Proceeds from the 2026 fundraisers will benefit Allegheny Health Network. Since 2012 the foundation has donated $570,000 to melanoma research and awareness programs in the Pittsburgh area. Historical notes from past events include the 2021 virtual 5k which drew over 1,200 participants from 30 states and more than 1,800 runners and walkers in 2025. The organization also notes that when the 2020 event was canceled due to COVID 19, many registered participants chose to donate their registration fees.
Angel and survivor signs are available at no cost for display along the course; sign requests are due by May 10th to allow time for printing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
