The Pistol Ultra Run
The Pistol Ultra Run is a multi-distance event held in Alcoa, Tennessee, situated just outside of Knoxville. The event takes place on a flat and fast USATF certified course. Participants run on a paved greenway trail that follows the scenic Pistol Creek. The course features night lighting to support runners participating in overnight distances.
The event offers a wide range of distances to accommodate different goals:
- 10.18 Miles
- 20.36 Miles
- 50K (31.14 Miles)
- 50 Mile Night Race (50.9 Miles)
- 100K (62.28 Miles)
- 100 Mile (101.8 Miles)
- 50K/50 Mile Double Barrel (81.069 Miles)
The Double Barrel Challenge requires participants to complete both the 50K and the 50 Mile races. The event is inclusive of push rims and walkers. The races start and finish at the Springbrook Pool Center, where runners have access to indoor heated restrooms.
The course includes heated, fully-stocked aid stations and a dedicated area for support crews. Ultra-distance participants (50K and above) receive a meal ticket for on-site food trucks. Cutoff times are generous, with up to 32 hours permitted for the longest distances. Pre-race activities, including packet pickup and course previews, are held at the Hilton Knoxville Airport.
