Pints for Patapsco
Pints for Patapsco is an annual road running event organized through a partnership between the Guinness Open Gate Brewery and the Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park. The event includes two timed distances:
- 5 km (The Thomas Viaduct 5K)
- 10 km (The Swinging Bridge 10K)
The courses begin at the Open Gate Brewery and lead runners into Patapsco Valley State Park. Participants on the 5 km route run toward the Thomas Viaduct, while those completing the 10 km distance cross the Swinging Bridge. All event proceeds are directed to support Patapsco Valley State Park.
The first half-mile of the course is designated as a "yellow light" segment. This portion serves as transportation from the brewery to the park entrance and is not included in the official timing. Timing for all participants begins once they reach the entrance of the state park.
The event is open to participants of all ages. However, individuals must be 21 years or older and provide a physical ID to purchase or consume alcohol. Management of the event involves cooperation with the White Oak Running Company and other local partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
