Pink Up The Pace 5K Walk/Run
The Pink Up The Pace 5K Walk/Run is an annual event held in October to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The course goes through the historic downtown area of St. Augustine, Florida.
The event includes two separate entries:
- Pink Up The Pace 5K - open to all ages, priced at $30 ($25 for ages 0-12).
- PUTP 5K Breast Cancer Survivor - exclusively for breast cancer survivors, priced at $25.
Pink Up The Pace (PUTP) is a non-profit organization founded in 2009. Its mission is to assist uninsured and underinsured individuals in St. Johns County with the early detection of breast cancer. All funds raised from the event stay within the county to support this mission.
The inaugural race in 2009 had over 800 participants and raised $20,000. By 2019, participation grew to 2,900 people, raising $50,000. Over its 18-year history, the organization has paid out over $350,000 for breast imaging services for local men and women in need.
