Jail Break 5K - St. Augustine
The Jail Break 5K is scheduled for October 24, 2026 at The Old Jail, 167 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, FL. Proceeds benefit Investing in Kids (INK!), whose mission is to provide programs, teacher support, and classroom resources for St. Johns County public school students and teachers.
The event offers an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option. Packet pick up is available on October 23 at the Old Town Welcome Center and on race day at The Old Jail. Registration fees vary by date, with early pricing through May 31 and graduated increases through race day; the virtual only fee is $40.
The certified 5K course (USATF Course FL17069TY) starts at the Old Jail, follows Magnolia Avenue and the Vilano Bridge toward the Atlantic Ocean, and includes shuttle transportation from the finish back to the start. Water stations are located at the start, 1 mile, 2 mile, and finish.
Participants receive a finisher medal and a themed t-shirt; t-shirt size availability is guaranteed only for those who register by September 30, 2026. The event includes a costume contest with prizes for top adult and youth costumes, printed and live online results provided by RaceSmith.com, professional timing with disposable electronic tags, and awards for overall male and female finishers and top three in multiple age groups.
