Jail Break 5K - St. Augustine
The Jail Break 5K takes place on October 24, 2026 at The Old Jail, 167 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, FL. Proceeds benefit Investing in Kids (INK!), an organization that provides programs, teacher support, and classroom resources for St. Johns County public schools.

Registration opens May 4, 2026. Early pricing applies: $25 until May 31; $30 from June 1 to July 31; $35 from August 1 to October 16; $40 from October 17 to October 23; race day fee $45. Runners ages 4–18 may register for $25 if registered by October 23, 2026. The virtual race fee is $40.
Packet pick up is available the day before at the Old Town Welcome Center and on race day at The Old Jail. Virtual participants submit results to RunSignUp; virtual participants may pick up swag at packet pick up or have it shipped after the race. There are no awards for the virtual race.
The course starts at The Old Jail, runs through Magnolia Avenue and over the Vilano Bridge to the Atlantic Ocean. Shuttle transportation returns participants from the finish to the start. Water stations are located at the start, 1 mile, 2 mile, and the finish. The course is USATF certified, FL17069TY.
Amenities include a finisher medal, event t-shirt, themed course elements, a costume contest with cash prizes, refreshments, and family activities. Awards go to overall male and female finishers and the top three in the listed age groups from 9 and under through 80 and older. Parking is available at nearby Old Town Trolley lots and public parking facilities; the Old Jail lot will be closed for event use.
