Pierogi 5K Walk/Run
The Pierogi 5K Walk/Run is an annual community event held in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. Hosted at the Butler Community College LindenPointe parking lot, the event marks its sixth year of operation. The proceeds from the race benefit St John's Orthodox Church.
Participants can choose from three distinct event distances:
- 5K
- 1-Mile Walk
- Kids Fun Run (1/4 mile)
The 5K and 1-Mile Walk registrations include an event t-shirt and a finisher medal. Special recognition is provided for the 5K event, with awards for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from 14 and under to 70 and up. Kids Fun Run participants receive a participation medal.
The event features several professional services, including chip timing by GCXC Racing - Youngstown and professional digital photography for race highlights and the awards ceremony. A DJ provides music during the event, and a local vendor serves various coffee and tea options. Following the finish, all participants receive pierogis with a selection of specialty toppings provided by a local partner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
