Event
The Pier to Pier Challenge Swim & 5k Run takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Wildwood, New Jersey, at Lincoln Avenue near the Wildwood Beach Patrol Headquarters. Event distances include:
- 1 Mile Swim
- 1/4 Mile Kids Swim
- 5k
- 1 Mile Kids Run
The 1 mile swim uses an apex triangle course where swimmers enter the water, follow the triangle route, and exit through a finish chute. The course is described as spectator friendly. The 5k is a beach run with the majority of the course along the water on hard packed sand. A 1 mile kids run was added as well.
Logistics and awards
The event is presented by the Wildwood Beach Patrol and Even Kiel Racing. Participants receive a swim cap, t-shirt, and professional chip timing. A "Double Down Challenge" option allows competitors to enter both the 5k and the swim by registering for each event separately. The event benefits the Wildwood Beach Patrol.
Parking is available on street or in nearby lots. Check-in is at the Lincoln Avenue beach entrance by the main lifeguard stand. Awards for the swim include top 3 overall male and female, age group winners, and team awards for Beach Patrol and swim clubs based on top four times.
