Pier to Pier Challenge Swim & 5k Run
The Pier to Pier Challenge features multiple beach events at Wildwood Beach Patrol Headquarters on Lincoln Ave in Wildwood, New Jersey. The program includes open-water swims and beach runs with options for adults and children.
The 1 mile swim uses an apex triangle course with an in-water entry and an exit through a finish chute that is spectator friendly. The 5k run takes place on the beach with the majority routed along the water on hard packed sand. A one mile kids run and a quarter mile kids swim are also offered.
Participants receive a swim cap, a t-shirt and professional chip timing. A Double Down Challenge allows participation in both the 5k and the swim provided each event is entered separately. Awards are given for the swim and the 5k, including top three overall male and female finishers, age-group awards, and team awards for Beach Patrol and swim clubs based on top four times.
Parking is available on-street and in nearby lots. Check in is handled at the Lincoln Ave beach entrance near the main lifeguard stand. The event benefits the Wildwood Beach Patrol and is presented by the Wildwood Beach Patrol and Even Kiel Racing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
