The event is the 8th annual Pier to Pier Challenge, which combines a swim and a running component. It takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Wildwood, New Jersey. The location is the Wildwood Beach Patrol Headquarters on Lincoln Avenue. The event features four separate competitions.

Events

1 Mile Swim: A one-mile open water swim course described as an apex triangle, starting and finishing on the beach with a spectator-friendly layout.
1/4 Mile Kids Swim: A shorter swim for younger participants.
5k: A beach run where the majority of the route is on hard-packed sand along the water.
1 Mile Kids Run: A one-mile run for children.

Participants can undertake a "Double Down Challenge" by registering individually for both the 5k run and the 1-mile swim.

Participant Information

All participants receive a swim cap, a t-shirt, and professional chip timing. Registration check-in begins at 8:00 AM at the main lifeguard stand on the beach, accessible via the Lincoln Avenue beach entrance.

Awards and Beneficiary
