Event Overview
The Mike's Seafood Valentine's Day 5K Run/Walk for Autism is a fundraising event held in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. It offers two distances: a 5K run and a 1-mile walk. The 5K is a competitive run with age-group prizes, while the 1-mile walk is a non-competitive event. Proceeds support Autism Speaks, Special Services Schools, Autism support groups, and families of children with special needs.
Event Details
The event starts and finishes at JFK Boulevard and the Boardwalk. After the race, there is a post-event gathering in heated tents outside Excursion Park. Activities include live music, an awards ceremony, door prizes, and family entertainment like magicians and face painting. A large buffet with bagels, donuts, pastries, soft pretzels, fruit, and drinks is provided.
The first 2,000 pre-registered participants receive a T-shirt and are entered into a door prize drawing. T-shirts may also be available on race day while supplies last. Team registration is encouraged; teams of 10 or more members receive a discount, and teams of 20 or more have their race packets grouped for efficient pickup.
Packet pickup is available at the Sea Isle City Community Center (300 JFK Blvd) on the Friday before the event and at the event tent on Saturday morning. The event has no snow date or refund policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
