The event takes place at Powhatan State Park in Powhatan, VA and offers multiple participation options.

The course is a roughly 2.7 mile loop with approximately 60 feet of elevation change per lap. The trail runs through open meadows and pine forest, with mostly double track and few roots or rocks. There are one or two short hills and typically visible fall foliage and bird activity in October.
Runners pass an aid station each lap. The aid station provides typical ultramarathon foods such as gummy candies and chips, plus Water, Tailwind and some pop. The event is cupless, so participants need to provide their own cup. Boxed lunches are available as an add on from the Cafe at Maidens; these include a sandwich, chips, a cookie and a can of pop and may be ordered for family or friends.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers. All participants receive finisher awards. Entry fee information and registration details include a listed entry price of $65 with a shirt, no refunds, and a discount for law enforcement, fire, medical, education, military and veterans using code "Thanks".
