Pickle Events Run
The Pickle Events Run is an annual sports competition held in Kerkhoven as part of the Kerkhoven Town and Country Days celebration. The event features two distinct distances for participants to choose from:
- 5K: A course consisting of flat, paved roads within the town.
- 10K: A route on mostly paved roads, including a segment of gravel and approximately 1.5 miles of mowed grass on the golf course.
Water stations are positioned every few miles along the courses to support the runners. The event serves as a fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the Pillsbury Swimming Pool and the BKMS Cross Country Team.
Participants are categorized by age groups for both men and women, ranging from 10 and under up to 70 and older. Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers, and medals are given to the top three finishers in each age division. Those who register by the mid-July deadline are guaranteed an event shirt.
The day includes various town activities following the race, such as children's games, a tractor pull, a flea market, firemen’s feed, and a parade. Local facilities including the swimming pool and kiddie rides are also available to the public. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
