About the race
The Wishbone 5K is a community Thanksgiving event hosted by the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA on November 26, 2026. The event includes a 5K run, a 2 mile walk, and the El Jay Plumbing and Heating presented "Little Turkeys" 1K for children. The run course begins on Stockinger Drive just outside the YMCA; Stockinger Drive will be closed to traffic on race day and the YMCA parking lot is available for parking. The YMCA facility will be open during the event for check in and as a place to warm up.
The event is presented by CentraCare M Physicians Orthopedics, with additional partner support from SCHEELS and other community sponsors. Racers are released in five waves, with the fastest pace runners starting first. Packet pick up is available the day before at the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA and also on race day at the YMCA. Entry cost is $5 per person.
The Wishbone 5K serves as the final race of the Bernick's Family Fitness Series, a series hosted by the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA that aims to remove cost barriers and provide family fitness opportunities. The series attracts over 7,000 participants and reports that about 80 percent of participants register as families. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
