Pi in the Sky
Pi in the Sky is a FAT ASS style trail run organized by GhostHead Productions in Phoenix, AZ. The event is listed as an 8 mile race while the course description notes a total of 9 miles on an out and back route that begins and finishes at the Hope Bible Church parking lot. The route crosses the 51 Freeway onto the Dreamy Draw Bikeway and travels through the Phoenix Mountain Preserves, including the Piestewa Peak summit.
The event has no entry fee and is limited to 50 runners. Course markings are minimal and placed at critical junctions only; Garmin coordinates will be provided. Trails are generally marked but may be confusing in places because of many small intersecting trails.
Terrain is rocky and technical with very limited shade. Early June conditions are described as warm to hot. Aid is minimal; a water fountain and restroom are available at Dreamy Draw Trailhead, but participants are responsible for their own well being. Timing will be recorded manually. Registration closes on Mon, Jun 1 at 11:59 PM MT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
