Pi in the Sky : Phoenix, AZ
Pi in the Sky is a FAT ASS style trail event organized with no entry fee and limited support. The event uses a partially marked out-and-back route of about 9 miles that starts and finishes at the Hope Bible Church parking lot. The course crosses the 51 Freeway onto the Dreamy Draw Bikeway and continues through the Phoenix Mountain Preserves, including the Piestewa Peak summit.
Trail conditions are rocky and often very technical, with minimal shade for long sections. Participants should be prepared for warm to hot conditions in early June. Course markings will be present at critical junctions only; Garmin coordinates for the route will be provided. Minimal on-course aid will be available, though a water fountain and restroom are located at the Dreamy Draw Trailhead. Participants are responsible for their own well-being.
The event is limited to 50 runners and there is no entry fee. Timing will be recorded manually. Registration closes Mon, Jun 1 @ 11:59 PM MT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
