Phoenix Running - Manchester Friday Fizz
This Phoenix Running event takes place on the Rochdale Canal in Chadderton, Oldham, with registration and the aid station located in a small corner of the Morrisons car park that leads onto the canal.
The course is a single out-and-back lap of 3.28 miles, described as flat and fast. Road shoes are recommended. The event uses chip timing with lap splits.
An aid station is provided and typically stocked with bananas, biscuits, vegan jelly sweets, salted pretzels, Coca-Cola, Irn-Bru, squash, crisps and brownies. Onsite facilities include the Morrisons cafe and public toilets. Free on-street parking is available within a short walk on Northfield Road and nearby streets.
Participants pick a lucky dip number before they start and receive a vintage Phoenix medal after finishing while supplies last. A race briefing with up-to-date information will be sent before the event and is mandatory reading for participants.
