Event Details
The Phoenix Remembrance Day Marathon & Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, 8 November 2026. This will be the 10th edition of the event. The entry fee is the same for both distances.
Distances
- Marathon (42.2 km)
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
Course and Format
The course is an off-road trail along a riverside towpath. The marathon distance is completed by running four out-and-back laps, while the half marathon consists of two laps. The route is described as flat with no elevation gain or loss.
A central feature of the event is a unique "race freeze" at 11:00 AM. At the sound of a horn, all runners stop to observe a two-minute silence. Runners resume their race at 11:02 AM after three horn blasts. The event is built around this observance, which in past years has also been joined by members of the public.
Participant Information
All participants receive a commemorative medal. For the 10th anniversary in 2026, the first 100 entries will receive additional special "bling." The event notes that it has sold out in advance in previous years and that places are strictly limited.
The event starts and finishes at the Xcel Sports Hub Stadium in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
