Remembrance Day Marathon & Half Marathon
The Remembrance Day Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 08 November 2026 in Walton on Thames, Surrey, at the Xcel SPORTS HUB Stadium area. This is the 10th edition of the event and both marathon and half marathon distances are offered.
The course is off-road along a riverside towpath. It is run as out-and-back laps on a flat route with no elevation gain or loss. Distances:
- Marathon: 4 out-and-back laps on riverside towpath.
- Half marathon: 2 out-and-back laps on the same course.
A central feature of the event is a planned race freeze at 11:00 when all participants stop to observe a two minute silence; runners resume at the signal that ends the silence. The silence is described by the organisers as the heart of the event and is integrated into the race format.
Entry details are the same for both distances; participants select marathon or half marathon during entry and the entry fee is the same for both categories. Fees listed for 2026 are £37.95 for affiliated entrants and £39.95 for unaffiliated entrants. All participants receive a physical giveaway medal or memento. The organisers note additional items for the first 100 entries and that places have sold out in previous years, with entries strictly limited.
