Philly Mayor's Cup
The Philly Mayor's Cup is a one-day, club-based running competition centered at Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. Multiple races share a single start and finish location on the plateau. Clubs from across the city enter runners to represent their community.
Courses include a mix of road, gravel, grass, and semi-technical trail sections. Several races feature rolling or steep hills and short stretches on grass or road; some formats use single loops or multiple loops. Distances offered at the event include:
- 1 mile Kids Run - loop around Belmont Plateau, hilly, all grass.
- 5K Trail - sections of Belmont Plateau cross country course, gravel and grass, several hills.
- 5 miles Roadkill 5 Mile - road race with several hills and about 3/4 mile grass.
- 10K Trail - single loop of semi-technical trails, rolling hills, some road and grass.
- 10 miles Roadkill 10 Mile - road race with several hills, a flat section, grass portions.
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon Trail - two loops of semi-technical trails, rolling hills, road and grass.
There are no individual overall winners; the top male and female from each club in each race earn points for their club based on ranking. The club with the highest point total becomes the Mayor's Cup Champion. Registration requires a club password. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
