PFW Running - Lancashire Loop Trail Run
The PFW Running - Lancashire Loop Trail Run takes place in Blackpool, offering participants the chance to explore the natural scenery of Lancashire. The event features an undulating course primarily on trail paths through a country park, with a short section on pavement. The route passes several local landmarks, including the Marton Mere nature reserve, Herons Reach golf course, and Blackpool Zoo. Runners may also see views of Blackpool Tower and Stanley Park during their run.
The event follows a 10 km loop format. Depending on the chosen distance, participants complete multiple laps or a combination of laps and short out-and-back sections. The following distances are available:
- 10 km: A single loop of the trail course.
- Half Marathon: Two loops plus a short out-and-back section.
- Marathon: Four loops plus a short out-and-back section.
- Ultra: Five loops of the trail course.
The event is held under UK Athletics rules with a Trail Running Association race permit. Aid stations are situated along the route providing water, cordial, cola, and a variety of sweet and savoury snacks. The start and finish area is located near the Village Hotel on East Park Drive. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post-race refreshments. Participation is limited to individuals aged 18 and over, with specialized distance limits for younger adults.
