Peyton's Wild and Wacky Ultra
Peyton's Wild and Wacky Ultra is an annual trail running event held on the Laurel Hill Trail in Mount Pleasant, SC. The 2027 edition is scheduled for March 13, 2027 and combines an ultra format with a standalone 5K on the same course.
The ultra follows a 10 by 5K format: participants complete a 5K loop ten times. Runners may enter the 50K solo or as part of a relay team of two or five people. Relay teams must follow race rules so that only one team member is on the course at a time. Solo and relay runners are required to complete each 5K loop within one hour and be ready at the start of each loop.
Registration opens September 10, 2026. There is no race day registration. Participants who register by February 1, 2027 are guaranteed an event shirt and bag. Entry caps are in place: the 5K is limited to 100 participants, the solo 10 by 5K to 100 runners, two-person relay entries to 150 participants (75 teams), and five-person relay entries to 325 participants (65 teams).
All proceeds benefit several local and military-related organizations, including the Semper Fi Fund, area schools, and local track programs. Participants receive event swag, finisher medals, and on-site food and beverage options. The event is rain or shine; refunds and bib transfers are not permitted. The trail is not stroller friendly and dogs are not allowed on the race course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
