Pewsey Vale Ultra Marathon
The Pewsey Vale Ultra is a 125 km loop that follows the waymarked Pewsey Vale Circular walking route through Wiltshire and the hills around Linkenholt. The course runs over rolling hills and open landscapes with a total ascent of approximately 1,902 metres (about 6,089 ft).
The route is marked with flags and signs and has additional signage provided by event staff where needed. GPX files are made available to help with navigation. Checkpoints are positioned at roughly 25 km intervals and provide water, juice, cola and a selection of sweet and savoury snacks. An experienced medical and safety team supports the event.
The event starts and finishes at Linkenholt Activity Centre. Parking is available at the venue with event staff on site to direct vehicles. Camping is offered at Linkenholt on Friday and Saturday nights for those staying over.
The race is chip timed and results are published after the event. There is a 24 hour cut off for completion. Prizes are awarded to podium finishers for male and female categories in each distance. Entry fee is listed as £85. Organisers communicate mandatory kit requirements and any course changes in advance; runners are advised to check the race information before attending.
