King Of Pain
The King Of Pain is a 10-mile road race held in South Glastonbury, Connecticut, with the primary venue at Hopewell Elementary School. The event is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2026, and is presented by Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Centers and The Glastonbury River Runners.
The course runs through South Glastonbury orchard areas and features repeated climbs. Organizers note the route will be open to traffic, and there is a seasonal risk of inclement winter weather. The field is limited and the event is open to ages 16 through 100.
Entry costs vary by date; an early price of $50 applied through January 19, 2026, and a higher fee applied thereafter. Online registration closes before the race and there will be no on-site registration on race day. No refunds are offered; transfers are handled case by case prior to registration closing.
Included services and recognition: chip timing, a long-sleeve technical shirt for early registrants (limited quantities and sizes for the first 150), post-race food, and awards. The top male and female finishers receive the titles King and Queen of Pain for 2026, with age group recognition for first place male and female in ten-year age groups.
Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Glastonbury on the days before the event and at Hopewell School on race day. Parking is available at Hopewell School and at additional lots across New London Turnpike; there is no parking at the fire station. The race benefits Achilles CT and Sunshine Kids.
