Pete Shields Ilkley 10k

The Pete Shields Ilkley 10k is a road race based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. This event serves as a memorial to a local runner and coach, with all profits donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care. The race takes place on fully closed roads and is limited to 400 participants.

The course is a flat, out-and-back route consisting of two laps. Due to the lack of significant climbing, the race is designed to be fast, providing opportunities for participants to pursue personal bests or course records. The current records for the event are 30:34 for men and 34:42 for women.

The event headquarters are located at Ilkley Rugby Club, where changing facilities and toilets are available. However, there are no showers or baggage storage facilities on-site. Supporters and participants can find free parking at West Holmes Field, which is located a few minutes from the headquarters. On the course, runners will find water stations and distance markers.

The event is open to runners aged 15 and over. To ensure safety on the multi-lap course, the use of headphones is prohibited, with the exception of bone-conducting headphones or medically prescribed devices. The registration fee depends on affiliation status, and while online registration closes shortly before the event, entries on the day may be available if the participant limit has not been reached.
