Pete Shields Ilkley 10K
The Pete Shields Ilkley 10K is a road race held in Ilkley, West Yorkshire on Sunday 7 June 2026. The event is run on closed roads over a flat two lap out and back course covering 10 km. The course is suitable for runners aiming for fast times; the men's record is 30:34 and the ladies record is 34:42.
The race is organised as a tribute and memorial to Pete Shields. All profits from the event are donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care; the organisers handed over £2,200 in 2025 in recognition of support provided to Pete and his family.
Entries are limited to 400 places. Runners must be aged 15 or over. Entry fees are listed as £18 for affiliated runners and £20 for unaffiliated runners, with an additional £3 for entry on the day when places remain. Online entries close at 18:00 on Friday 5 June, and places may be transferred free of charge up until 23/05/2026 by contacting the race organiser.
The race holds EA licence 31130 and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Headphones or similar devices are not permitted except for bone conducting headphones or when medically prescribed. Race facilities include water stations, distance markers, toilets and changing rooms; there are no showers or baggage storage.
