Event Overview

This is a trail running event called Stay Puft, part of the Perth Trail Series Summer Series. It takes place on the Ghost House Trail in Yanchep National Park. The event name is inspired by the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from the Ghostbusters film, with references to historic ghost houses along the course.

Location and Logistics

The start and finish area is at Chocolate Drops – The Tearooms within Yanchep National Park. Participants are instructed to enter 'Chocolate Drops' into a GPS device for directions. Parking is available in marked bays within the park's carparks. Carpooling is encouraged via the organizer's social group.

A park entry fee of $8 is collected upon arrival by rangers if participants do not hold a valid parks pass. RAC members can get a discount on an annual or holiday WA National Park Digital Pass.

Course Distances

The event offers multiple course distances, categorized by a colour system:

  • Black Course
  • Blue Course
  • Green Course

Participants can view detailed course maps online via provided links for each colour. The course is marked with blue flagging tape and arrows on the day, and participants are expected to follow these markings.

Event Day Requirements

All participants, regardless of course distance, must bring and present a personal hydration system (handheld bottle, waist belt, or pack) holding a minimum of 500ml at check-in to receive their race bib. The bib must be worn on the front and be visible at all times during the event.

Hiking poles are not permitted at Summer Series events. Due to National Park rules, pets, including dogs, are not allowed anywhere in the park, including the start/finish area and course.

Post-Race

Presentations and awards are held after the majority of participants for each course colour have finished. Participants can refuel with food, coffee, and drinks available at the finish area. A merchandise tent sells PTS gear like shirts, buffs, hats, and visors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
