Overview

The City of Joondalup Mullaloo Triathlon takes place at Mullaloo Beach, Western Australia. This event marks the 12th year of the longer triathlon course on the Northern Beaches of Perth. The start and finish area is located at Tom Simpson Park. Participants can enter as individuals or as part of relay teams for specific categories.

The course covers the area between Mullaloo Beach and Hillarys. The event includes specialized formats such as a Duathlon and an Aquabike, alongside traditional triathlon distances and a standalone open water swim.

Distance Options

  • Novice and Junior Bolt: 250m Swim, 10km Bike, and 2km Run.
  • Sprint: 750m Swim, 20km Bike, and 5km Run.
  • Duathlon (Short): 2km Run, 20km Bike, and 5km Run.
  • Aquabike (Standard): 1.5km Swim and 40km Bike.
  • Standard Race: 1.5km Swim, 40km Bike, and 10km Run.
  • Open Water Swim: 1500m solo swim.

Participation Details

The event caters to various age groups. The Standard distance is open to athletes aged 16 and over and includes a Team Challenge for family, sporting, or corporate teams. The Sprint and Duathlon options are available for seniors and juniors aged 14-19. Younger participants aged 12 and up can compete in the Bolt junior categories or the Open Water Swim.

The competition serves as a WA State Championship for several categories. Prizes include finisher medals for all participants, with trophies or place medals awarded to top finishers in specific age groups and elite divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
