About the race
Perry Lakes parkrun is a free, weekly community 5k event held at Perry Lakes Reserve in Floreat, Western Australia. The course is two laps around the perimeter of West Lake and a grassy oval, starting and finishing at the southern-most point of the closed roads in the reserve. Surfaces are a mixture of asphalt paths and grass; some sections may collect mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Facilities on site include toilets and a children’s playpark.
The event uses shared park paths, so participants are asked to give way to other park users and take care near roads, car parks and uneven surfaces. Children under eleven must be accompanied within arm’s reach by an appropriate adult throughout the event. Participants may take part with one dog on a short handheld non-extendable lead; waist harnesses are not permitted.
Running with both a pushchair and a dog at the same time is not allowed. parkrun encourages arrival by foot, cycle or public transport and notes parking may be limited. Marshals or signs are placed at key sections of the course when available. Age grading is used to help parkrunners compare results.
After the event participants often gather for post-parkrun coffee at Cup & Co. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
