John Gilmour Track Race
The John Gilmour Track Race is organised by the West Australian Marathon Club and takes place at Coker Park, Cannington on 23 October 2026. The main event is a track 10 km run conducted as 25 laps of a standard 400 m track, which requires consistent pacing and lap counting.
A complementary community event, the CDAC 1 Mile Run, is held in honour of Canning Districts' running legends and is open to the public. The evening includes awards and spot prizes, music, and a barbecue hosted by the Canning Districts Athletic Club to raise funds for the club's 75-year celebration. The barbecue offers food and drink at stated prices.
Entry fees for the 10 km event are differentiated by membership and age: members and member U18 entries are free, non-member U18 are priced at AUD 15.00, and non-member entries are AUD 25.00. Online registration availability and any late-entry penalties are managed by the organiser.
WAMC members may use a cloth bib and timing chip to record split times. Bib collection is arranged for the event evening. The event is open to non-members; participation does not require club membership. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
