John Gilmour Track Race : event overview
The John Gilmour Track Race is scheduled for 23 October 2026 at Coker Park, Cannington, and is organised by the West Australian Marathon Club. The main event is a 10 km track race run as 10,000 m, which requires 25 laps of a 400 m track. Participation is open to non members.
Event features listed for the race include a flat and accurate track, spectator friendly viewing, awards and spot prizes, barbecue and music, and points awarded toward the club championship. The 10,000 m format allows consistent lap measurement and split recording for competitors who use timing chips.
The evening also includes a community CDAC 1 Mile Run held at the 1 mile starting line prior to the main track races.
