John Gilmour Track Race
The John Gilmour Track Race is a 10 km track event organised by the West Australian Marathon Club at Coker Park, Cannington on 23 October 2026. The race is run on a 400 m track and the 10 km distance is completed by running 25 laps.
The evening also features the CDAC 1 Mile Run, a free community event held in honour of Canning Districts' running legends. That shorter race precedes the main track event and is open to everyone.
A post-race barbecue is hosted by the Canning Districts Athletic Club to raise funds for its 75-year celebration. Food and drink prices are listed as $3 for a hot dog and $2 for a drink.
Online registrations close on 22 October 2026 unless the event sells out earlier. A late registration penalty applies from the Saturday before the event for non-members only. Bib collection is available on the evening of the event; WAMC members who use timing chips can record split times and are asked to bring their cloth bib and timing chip.
Entry fees for the 10 km are free for members and U18 members, $15 for non-member U18, and $25 for non-members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
