Event overview
Perennial is a time-based endurance run held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, North Carolina. Participants choose one of three time categories: 3 Hour, 6 Hour, or 10 Hour. The course is lap based, with each lap an approximate 5K-ish loop that is about 95% trail and crushed gravel. Runners complete as many laps as they can within their chosen time category; standings are determined first by lap count and then by time.
Logistics and race format
The lap course starts and finishes at Race HQ and the on-course aid station. The event provides water, Tailwind, soda, basic snacks, and an aid station at the start/finish of each lap. Bathrooms are nearby but not inside Race HQ. Participants are expected to be self sufficient for their main nutrition and gear. The event is cup free and safety-pin free. Parking is in the main Daniel Stowe Conservancy lot; Race HQ is nearby. The field is limited to the first 150 registrants (50 per time category).
Distances, awards and benefits
Prize opportunities increase with additional laps. Approximate distance conversions listed by the organizer are: 4 laps ~ half marathon, 8 laps ~ marathon, 12 laps ~ 40 miles, 16 laps ~ 50 miles. Registration includes a custom shirt (made from recycled materials if registered by the shirt deadline) and a souvenir race bib. Additional donations and some event proceeds support the Daniel Stowe Conservancy, and the event organizes recycling programs for old shirts, sneakers, and medals.
